At a Neighborhood Watch
meeting, the following information was presented by OCSD
Neighborhood Enhancement Team, Deputy Sheriff Rob Gunzel
in conjunction with the RHA.
Neighborhood
Watch is now in the Rossmoor Homeowners website.
- RHA
website will now be the source to communicate
notice for Neighborhood Watch meetings and
public information.
- O.C.S.D.
crimes reported for Rossmoor in RHA website.
- RHA
website will not be interactive nor the vehicle
to report incidents or requests for service
regarding suspicious or criminal activity. (See,
O.C.S.D. Law Enforcement Services Protocol).
- RHA
Office telephone remains available at (562)
799-1401 regarding questions or concerns
for Neighborhood Watch.
- Neighborhood
Watch meetings will be held as needed
- Communicate
with other Block Captains and volunteers.
- Find
new volunteers before resigning and submit
name (contact information) to RHA Office.

Emergency
Calls (9-1-1)
Calls
placed via 9-1-1 should be of a life or death emergency nature
only. Examples of emergency calls are as follows:

house on fire

Somebody
not breathing or seriously injured requiring paramedics
/ ambulance
-Serious
traffic collision

actively breaking into your residence

with a weapon i.e., a gun or knife

for service include incidents where a citizen requires a
Deputy to take a report. These reports are for incidents
that have already occurred and are not of an urgent nature.
Examples of calls for service are as follows:

and discover your vehicle has been broken into sometime
during the evening hours

You arrive home
after work and find your residence has been burglarized
|

A residence in the
area is having a loud party which is disturbing your
peace
|

Juveniles are loitering
on the school grounds after hours without apparent business.

You wish to report
an illegally parked vehicle, i.e., red zone & fire
hydrant violations
|
 |
You observe a suspicious
vehicle in your neighborhood, which you do not recognize
as a neighbors car.

“quality of Life” issue.

of these types of correspondences are as follows:

“believe” somebody in the neighborhood
is running an illegal business out of his residence

vehicle in your neighborhood has been parked in the
same location (public or private property) for an
extended period of time, (months – years)

would like to pass along information you have obtained
but are unaware of whom to contact.
